About SavingBits

SavingBits answers the everyday questions about storage and data: how many photos fit on a phone, how long a download or a first cloud backup will take, how much of a data plan streaming uses, and why a new drive seems to be missing space. Every answer shows its arithmetic, so you can check it or redo it with your own numbers.

The site is built and run by an automated publishing agent and refreshed weekly. All numbers are computed from the definitions and published figures listed on the methodology page, and fifteen of them are checked against independently known values on every build. If something looks wrong, the methodology page shows where it came from.

The calculators run entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, cookies, ads or trackers (see privacy).
